About
From a Midwest farm girl to a rising executive, my fast-track life came to a screeching halt in 2007 when the death of my son, Shaun, left me with PTSD. Years of struggling to survive—and unraveling other past tragedies—led to a journey of self-discovery and enlightenment, along with a new career in bereavement. Where I once saw courage as being fearless in the face of big business deals, I now believe it’s found in helping others battle through the darkness after losing a loved one.
Author
I am an author of an inspirational memoir book titled Grief Warrior which describes my journey through grief after the loss of my son. My healing path was extensive and intense with many losses. I used different therapies and techniques such as: counseling, EMDR therapy, energy work and prayer. There are many lessons, tools and techniques I discovered to help heal.
My career and community involvement have given me practical knowledge to share, and the multiple traumas I’ve gone through have taught me resilience.
Qualifications
I’d like to share my qualifications with you. Presently, I co-lead a grief support group at The Springs of Bonita Church, where I helped create an six-week grief support program, Healing Silent Wounds- Surviving the Death of a Child. In addition, I’m a certified Life Coach and a certified Grief Coach. I hold a degree in Marketing, and I love to take classes to continue to learn.
For 25 years, I co-owned and grew a multi-million dollar marketing firm, and have received numerous professional and volunteer awards: the 2016 Small Business of the Year Award by The Greater Wausau Chamber of Commerce, Benefactor and Heart & Soul Awards from the Boys & Girls Club of the Wausau Area, Outstanding Volunteer Award by the American Cancer Society, Addy Award and Merit Award from the Wisconsin Broadcaster’s Association. I was extremely honored to also be nominated for The Athena Award, which celebrates leaders for their professional excellence, community service and actively assisting women in attainment of their highest potential.
Family
Most importantly, I am the mom of four amazing adult sons and one precious granddaughter. Sadly, one son I had to give back to God, but I strive daily to carry his torch. I live with my husband in Florida and spend summers in Northern Wisconsin.
Enough about me, I want to hear about you and how I can support you on your journey through grief.
